Re: Application 18-63P1; In-Law Apartment
Dear Ms. Fortin:
Attached please find a copy of your approved zoning permit for an in-law
apartment at 710 Governors Highway.
The South Windsor Zoning Regulations stipulate that an in-law apartment
be occupied by a family member or relative only. In addition, the
regulations also require that once the in-law apartment is no longer
occupied by a family member or relative, it cannot be considered a
second dwelling unit. Instead, you will be required to remove the kitchen
and convert the living area into additional living space for the main
dwelling, in accordance with the previously submitted and approved
plan.
This permit is valid for five (5) years, and will expire on November 27, 2023.
If the use as an in-law apartment is to be continued, you will have to
renew this permit at that time. This will be done through a letter from the
Town Planning Department, requesting reaffirmation of occupancy of the
in-law apartment by a family member or relative.
If you have any questions, please call me at (860) 644-2511, extension 251.
Sincerely,
Pamela A. Oliva; CZEO
