Commissioners Mainelli stated that it doesn't appear that the
Commission can approve this application, and Mrs. Evans agreed
that it couldn't be approved under the circumstances since no
restrictions can be placed on a zone change. Mrs . Montana stated
she is sympathetic with the applicant but the Commissioners have
a responsibility as elected officials and they couldn't permit
this without restrictions and they are not allowed to place restrictions.
Mr: Conde noted that if what the applicant proposes doesn't work,
he could always fall back on the general commercial zone and do
something more profitable. Mr. Gilligan said he questions the
viability of such a project. He noted that a place like Sturbridge
Village doesn't rely on surviving economically by selling, but
on grants and donations.
Mr% Sorenson then made a motion to deny the application of
William Rrawski for a zone change from AA-30 to GC on 7.8 acres
located on the east side of Buckland Road. Mrs. Sorosiak seconded
the motion and it was unanimously voted in favor and so ordered.
