Re: Temporary Liquor Permit Application Narrative
Our first of hopefully many Trailblazer Poker Ryeds (mis-spelling intended!) will be held on
September 29th at Rye Street Park. We are hoping to increase the awareness of our Mountain
Bike Trails within the park with a fun fitness event! This event involves riding your bike to five or
seven different check-points, drawing a playing card at each stop, and trying to assemble the
best poker hand. The top hand will be awarded a CASH prize of half of all proceeds. This is a
family-friendly event, and not a race! All experience levels welcomed. $10 event fee includes
one beer ticket (featuring local "Trailblazer Beer"), one shirt, and one raffle ticket! In-person
registration begins at 8:00am on the day of, and the ride start window will be from 9:00 am —
11:00 am. We will be joined by Connecticut Valley Brewing Company, The Bike Shop, South
Windsor Walk and Wheel Ways, food trucks, and kids' activities!
Our first "Porters on Porter" Pumpkin Roll will take place on October 19th on the newly named
Porters Hill! Attendees will bring their own pumpkins to win their chance at the "best decorated"
pumpkin, or the longest roll! Connecticut Valley Brewing Company will be selling beer, Food
Trucks will be in attendance, and entertainment will be provided as well. This family-friendly
event is designed to celebrate the fall season with some basic and traditional outdoor fun.
