Re: Dump truck parking in South Windsor, CT
To whom it may concern:
I spoke with "Alex" last week regarding a dump truck with "Gangster"
printed on the tailgate that is parking on a residential street in South
Windsor. During that conversation, I had stated that I would check with
the Town Police Department regarding the parking of such a vehicle on
Town streets.
The only restriction the Police have is to not allow this parking during winter
months (November to March), as parking bans are in effect for snow
removal activities. However, the Town Assessor requires any vehicle that is
being kept in Town overnight to be registered in the Town, with taxes paid
to the Town for the truck.
For your employee to keep the truck in town, he will have to find a
storage location for the truck in the Industrial zone, as the only
commercial vehicles allowed in a residential zone under the Town zoning
regulations is a van or pick-up truck.
