Re: Application 12-46Z; In-Law Apartment
Dear Ms Kolinsky:
Attached please find a copy of your approved zoning permit for an in-law
apartment at 28 Maple Street. The South Windsor Zoning Regulations stipulate
that an in-law apartment be occupied by a family member or relative only. In
addition, the regulations also require that once the in-law apartment is no longer
occupied by a family member or relative, it cannot be considered a second
dwelling unit. Instead, you will be required to remove the kitchen and convert
the living area into additional living space for the main dwelling.
This permit is valid for five (5) years, and will expire on December 3, 2017. If
the use as an in-law apartment is to be continued, you will have to renew this
permit. This will be done through a letter from the Town Planning Department,
requesting reaffirmation of occupancy of the in-law apartment by a family
member or relative.
If you have any questions, please call me at (860) 644-2511, extension 251.
Sincerely, J
