I am writing this letter to request your cooperation as I attempt to enforce the Town sign regulations while permitting various messages. As you will see in the copy of the regulations that I have included, a property is Limited to a total of thirty-six (36) square feet of temporary signage. The large signs that are being displayed by the civic non-profit groups usually utilize the entire size allotment. Therefore, we can only permit one such sign at a time. While in the past we have tolerated more than one sign at a time, the Town has made the decision to better enforce the regulations. Today alone, I have had to juggle three different organizations seeking to utilize your site at the same time. You could greatly assist me in this endeavor if you would not sign off on multiple sign requests if they are occurring at the same time. I am attempting to permit them on a first come first served basis. Accordingly, in the immediate instance, I have approved the sign permit for the Farmer's Market, but not the Chamber of Commerce or the Circus. If you have any questions or suggestions to better manage your popular location, please contact me at (860) 644-2511, extension 252. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, Pamela A.
