RE: The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk on Buckland Road
Approval to use a private meter
Dear Mr. Abbate:
The South Windsor Water Pollution Control Authority, at its regular meeting of April 2,
2013, approved the use of an additional private water meter for the lawn sprinkler system
at The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk on Buckland Road, South Windsor, CT,
which may be used to measure the amount of the water that is not discharged to the
sewer. This figure will be subtracted from the water company's consumption report to
indirectly measure the sewer discharge and will serve as the basis for calculating a sewer
user charge, and is subject to the following conditions:
1. The meter installed must meet all Town regulations and appropriate technical
specifications relating to sanitary sewer construction.
2. The applicant needs to read this meter not less than once a month, maintain a log
of meter readings, have the meter maintained, and make sure is accurately
recording flow.
3. Following reasonable notice, the applicant shall allow the Town staff to inspect
meter log and check that the meter is in good operating order.
4. The applicant shall submit to the Town in January of each year a written meter
report on company letterhead for the previous calendar year.
