ZBA application 1005 Main Street, South Windsor, CT
The applicant requests a waiver of 19 feet to place a tandem garage at the end of the
existing driveway. The owner feels that the designated area will be a natural placement
in relation to the current home.
The property is a nonconforming, narrow lot. A neighbor's tall privacy fence is located
near the property line. The new structure would have minimal impact in the open area of
the lot. The new garage would not require any additional driveway of impetious
coverage.
The proposed placement on this narrow lot would allow the maximum use and view of
the rear yard and most important minimal disturbance to the existing open area of the lot.
A neighbor to the left of the home has a garage that is located 3.5' from the property line.
In addition a property across the street was granted a variance (ZBA approval app 2679-
06) for garage location due to narrowness of the property and need to preserve some view
from the rear of the house.
Request a 19' variance for a tandem garage at the end of exiting driveway.

RE: Application #2696-07—Dewey variance
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Dewey:
At the meeting of the South Windsor Zoning Board of Appeals held on May 3, 2007,the Board
approved your request for a variance to Section 10.2 of the zoning regulations to allow a garage
to be three feet from the property line on property located at 1005 Main Street,A-40 zone.
The Board concluded the hardship to be the unique trapezoidal lot geometry and the narrowness
of the lot.
Any new building, or alteration/additions to existing buildings, requires a building permit prior
to start of construction.
These actions are effective upon your filing the enclosed form in the Town Clerk's Office at your
own expense.
Very truly yours, Q ^ -
