Dear Mr. Semprebon:
The South Windsor Water Pollution Control Authority, at its regular meeting of April 3, 2007, approved the
application as presented for connection to the Town's sewerage system for the Aldi Distribution Center located
on Rye Street, South Windsor, CT as more specifically shown on plans entitled, "Aldi Distribution Facility, 295
Rye Street, South Windsor, Connecticut; Prepared by Design Professionals, Inc., South Windsor, CT: Sheet
Nos.: U2,U3,U4,U6,&U7, "Topographic Plan"Job No.: 2282,Dated: 11/22/06,with revision dates of 2/2/07,
3/9/07,3/27/07'; and subject to the following conditions:
1. If there is any change to the meter station,they will come before the Commission again.
2. Payment of all appropriate connection charges.
3. Technical approval of the Town Engineering Department.
4. Final Authority approval and acceptance of the sanitary sewerage connection will be given once the sewer
line has been installed and inspected by the Town staff, and based upon the written verification of the Town
staff that said sanitary sewer line was installed in substantial conformance with the design plans approved
by the Authority, and meeting all Town regulations and appropriate technical specifications relating to
sanitary sewer construction.
This approval letter must be superimposed on the final approval plans.

We are including herein 4 sets of revised utility plans. The plans have been revised to
address comments on the sanitary sewer and pump station design as contained in Jeff
Doolittle's 3/20/07 memorandum.
• The pump station has been designed to handle 3,350,000 gallons per year. This equates to
6.37 gals. per minute. The flow was provided to us by the mechanical Engineer on the
project. All sanitary sewers on site have been designed to provide a minimum of 2.5'/sec.
cleansing velocity at-daily peak flow rates.
The pump station has been desigii6d to provide approximately 450 gallons of capacity
between the pump on 'off ele'vation. This is a little over 1 hour of capacity within the
pump station. The pump station will be a duplex pump setup and there will be an emergency
generator on site to provide backup power to the pump station. The pump station details are
shown on the design plans including the pump flow switch elevations,pump type etc.
Based on the limited elevation difference between the pump station and the outlet manhole
elevation,we have calculated that there will be approximately 15' of head on the pumps.
The type of pumps chosen are Meyer model 3 WHV 1.5 HP with a capacity of approximately
100 GPM at 15' pump head. This pump will be able to pump down the wet well in
approximately 5 minutes per cycle.
