DPI Proj.No. 2525 25 Gerber Road South Windsor, Connecticut • Dear Jeff, The following information documents the estimated sewage flows within sewer pipes proposed at less than 2.0% slope. : Each of the four proposed 11 unit buildings contain 36 bedrooms. Assuming 1.5 residents per bedroom; a 75 gallon/capita rate, and a peak factor of 7,peak flows can be approximated at 0.0438 cfs. The proposed slope for the first run of 8"PVC pipe receiving sewage flows from 11 units(36 bedrooms)is 1.29%,providing a velocity of 2.15 fps within the privately maintained pipe. The calculations provided are conservative considering all bedrooms could house additional occupants. : Assuming a routine flow from a traditional washing machine, approximated at 40 gallons/min.(0.089 cfs),the flow discharging from a single unit would travel through the 8"main at 1.29% slope at a velocity of 2.6 fps. The final run of proposed sewer pipe is 3001f of 8"with a slope of 0.5%. This run receives flow from all 4 buildings (144 bedrooms). Under the same assumptions described above, peak flows can be approximated at 0.1755 cfs. The pipe at 0.5% slope would be capable of conveying the projected peak flow at a velocity of 2.32 fps. We expect the system to operate adequately, requiring no unusual maintenance. Sincerely 4arei RO NALS : he , P.E. cc: Fred Shaw : Galen Semprebon, P.E.
