There was some discussion on having a sign on end of driveway for ambulance area as well. The correspondence on the wearing of the carpets and the letter from J. P. A 48 hour labor figure from Naek at 18' dollars per hour was over $900. with a total in excess of $3,000. for the entire job. Tire problems causing this duct change were again reviewed with many comments from commission members and James Bernina consulting engineer. The drawings were also reviewed and the end result was that Naek was not that keen on being involved in the changes and Lawrence was asked to go back to Delco Air and get a price on them doing the entire job. Proposal Request #32 was for furnishing and installing a new laundry tray type sink in the Evidence Processing Room for disposal of liquids . Lawrence said Cannon Plumbing quoted $516. to put in the sink but the contractor' s labor and cost involved in the job (12 hours labor) brought the cost figure to 1,264. total. Lawrence said that floor plans have been developed from an architectural standpoint and are ready for the scope of the project from the standpoint of consulting engineers . James Berning presented a schedule of items for the addition and the existing building covering items under plumbing, heating_ and electrical which he wished to discuss with us and invited comments and auestions . The first item which came under plumbing for the addition was floor drains with grease/sand interceptor. . He said rules regarding this vary from town to town and Hossain commented that they would meet with the Town Engineers and discuss this matter. James Berning said they felt a gas fired radiant tube heating system in Apparatus Room was energy efficient. Lawrence told Chief Crombie there are places around here that use this system and they could go and see them. Under Electrical for the addition there were several items starting with providing new underground service to Northwest corner of Anparat us room, providing new main disconnect/meter and panelboard for Apparatus room, transfer switch for emergency generator furnished by Town as well as other items involving wiring, fire alarm syste^z, emergency lighting and exit si7na7e, site lighting and communication raceways . In the Existing building there were several items under plumbing_ as well as a new item added to relocate existing Hot 'plater Heater. Old restroom would be removed and two new--toilet rooms would be added, including extension of supply lines and damage. Existing kitchen would remain but.-new sanitary line to city sewer, new gas piping and extending of water line were listed . There was a discussion on the meeting room and the fact that existing furnace is adequate for q0 people or so. Chief Crombie said larger zroups met at the Ellington Road facility. Berning discussed code violations which exist presently and Lawrence showed the group some pictures of the present facility they had taken. Electrical items were discussed and Berning said this was their understanding of the stove of the work at present. Mr. Stin.gle come-ented that many of the items listed in the scope of the project looked to him as if they were going to run into alot of money. Hossain said that this is like a programming tool and they had asked for a list from the Berning Office and we are basically asking if there is anything in the list they have made up that you do not need or want. Other discussions centered around new heater in new building, hanging units vs Gas Fired Radiant Tube Heating System and Lawrence asked Bernina to get cost estimates on both systems and come back to us with them. The electrical items discussed will be checked out with the Fire Marshall and handicapped facilities were also touched upon as well as heating of the new restrooms . Chairman Fitts felt this was an exchange process and we should give them guidance on our needs . He asked for clarification of both the gas and electric company as to what they will and will not do. Lawrence said they had met with Peter DeMallie, Planning Director for Town who had indicated they had to go to the Zoning Boar? of Anneals- for side yard variance and it was expected they would take ur this matter at a meeting of this board on March 7th. Posting of si7.ns was discussed with Chief Crombie 10 days before the meeting. The next meeting of the commission will be the regular meeting_ of March 6 here at the Police/ Ambulance Facility at 7 :30 PM • Public Building Commission Minutes of Meeting x Regular Meeting - February 6, 1g85 Pa?e Lawrence discussed site and architectural progress prints and said they had ff5 architectually and nothing as yet for mechanical drawings . Hossain told Chief Crombie he might have to come to the meeting'-with the Zoning Board of Appeals and state his needs . Hossain gave Chairman Fitts the paperwork from the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals . Stingle asked about target dates for bid and Fitts said bid target was for month of June. Lawrence said full plans continue to develop and he had a discussion with Chief Crombie with some ideas for front of existing building. Chief Crombie told Lawrence he did not like glass 'clock.
