Our builder is Mr. Rene Veilleux of the Real Estate Store. Since this problem began, we have contacted Mr. Veilleux both verbally and in writing requesting he correct the water problem. Approximately two weeks ago, he surveyed the three lots and both he and his head worker verbally agreed they would correct this problem. However, on 6/4/84, Mr. Veilleux stated to us that he will not correct the problem and that it is not his responsibility. We have since scheduled a professional engineer specializing in soils and drainage to assess our problem on Friday, 6/15/84 at 10:00 A.M. and have requested Mr. Veilleux to attend this assessment with expectations that he will indeed correct the problem. We would appreciate any assistance and advice you may have regarding this matter. The wet condition is brought about by water surfacing in the cut areas behind the houses. The water table and finished ground level are so close as to allow the water to surface. I have been told that a drain has been placed higher up the hill. The location and depth of this drain has not been checked by us. As this water surfacing condition is still a problem it is apparent that some additional drain construction is needed to remedy the situation. It is my judgment that a curtain drain should be constructed just above the toe of slope to intercept this water and lead it to a storm drain in the street.- The drain should extend from about 20 feet beyond the house line of Houses 30 and 40. The three homeowners , Messrs . Veilleux requested that he be permitted to build the box instead of buying it precast . Mr . Martel noted that the culvert is now in place , and it was inspected throughout its construction. Mrs . Montana noted that the actual cost is the same and she doesn ' t see any problem. Mrs . Klenke agreed that it cost the Town the same amount . Mrs .
