1. The application and supplements must be filed in duplicate,typed or printed in ink.
2. A Class D or better survey of the property in question must be submitted with the application showing streets,lot
lines,building lines,zone boundary lines,dimension,and buildings present or proposed and buildings on
adjacent properties and distance from subject property.
3. If a variance is being requested,a legal description and deed of the property must be submitted with the
application. This description can be obtained from mortgage records.
4. The sign from the Planning Department must be displayed on the property at least 10 days prior to the public
hearing in a location visible from all abutting streets.
• The applicant,or a representative must be present for the public hearing. The time, date and
place of the hearing will be advised by mail

Item No. 12. Application Narrative
This is the site of the former DeCarli trucking terminal. Site plan approval has
been granted by the Planning & Zoning. Commission for two uses: 1. Vehicle transportation
service (primarily long-distance vehicle hauling, e.g., to & from Florida, with some
local automobile hauling) , with related automobile storage and truck & trailer main-
tenance; and 2. Truck & trailer maintenance and repair service for others, with related
parking area for vehicles awaiting maintenance or pickup. Applicant now desires to add
automobile maintenance and repair service, and to change name of enterprise from Caron
Auto Works, Inc. to Caron C&R,Inc. In order to qualify for a DMV license to repair cars
& trucks, the applicant is required to receive location approval from the ZBA. Moreover,
the zoning regulations require location approval for the truck and auto repair garage
and the temporary storage of automobiles awaiting transfer. The Planning & Zoning
Commission ruled on October 28,1997 that no further site plan approval is required
from Caron C&R,Inc. for adding automobile maintenance and repair services, nor for the

At the meeting of the South Windsor Zoning Board of Appeals held on December 4,
1997, the Board approved your request for a State Hearing under Section 14-55 and
3.1.3 to allow a General Repairers License at 13 John Fitch Boulevard, GC Zone.
The Board conditioned the approval by requiring any cars that are left outside be
parked in the fenced-in area.
Any new building, or alterations/additions to existing buildings, require a building
