Dear Zoning Board of Appeals;
The Connecticut River Valley Fellowship has been meeting in the Pleasant Valley Elementary
School for the last seven years. In order to meet we must load all of our equipment and
materials up and carry it into the school each Sunday morning. We then tear down, transport,
store all of our equipment and supplies two hours later after our worship service. We desire to
add to the quality of life in South Windsor, the community we serve, however, increasingly, as
we expand our services, we are finding this more and more difficult. We have come to the
point that we need a building. We desire to remain in South Windsor and we are look for land
to build upon. However this process is taking much longer than we anticipated. At this point
the lack of a building is beginning to adversely effect our ability to continue to expand our
ministry.
A temporary solution would be to rent a facility until we could obtain land and construct an
appropriate building. However we can not find anything in the proper zoning areas for our use.
We have negotiated to rent the building at 240 Chapel Street for at least three years, contingent
upon all the necessary town approvals.
This building will meet our present needs nicely. We have been in contact with the Town
Building Inspector and Fire Marshal and will be bringing the building into compliance, according
to their recommendations, to the use we are requesting. We feel it will take minimal change
to the structure to bring it into compliance.
Thank you for your consideration of our request. Having our own facility will hopefully aid us
in establishing and identity in the community and allow us to continue to serve South Windsor
until we can build a permanent facility.
Sincerely,
Richard Culpepper
