Lessee Are there any liquor outlets within the restricted area? No (If yes , submit a list of the liquor outlets, their locations and distances from the property in question) . Is this property within 500 feet of another town line? No State clearly the unusual hardship or exceptional difficulty that prompts this application and indicate why other options are unacceptable. (Use a separate sheet of paper if necessary) . The lack of a liquor permit/license would put the applicant at a competitive disadvantage, with current business conditions as poor as they are, the applicant would not be able to compete at the same level as other area businesses. Furthermore, the rapid development of the Buckland Mall Area continues to erode and take business customers from the subject premises market. Although the day care facility and church are within 500 feet of the applicant' s premises, it appears that well over 500 feet separates the buildings. Also, enclosed are copies of documents supporting approval of a temporary and conditional permit for storage and sale of beer and wine for the previous business owner/operator (Cafe Pesto) . March 17, 1995 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing this letter concerning the opening of a new restaurant called Calamari which will be located in the same office complex as my child care center. There have been other restaurants in the past at this location. I have always thought that a restaurant in this office complex has enhanced this area. The fact that this business will be serving beer and wine does not cause me as a business owner any cause for alarm. Other restaurants at this location have served beer and wine without incident.
