The delineation was conducted in accordance with the standards of the National Cooperative Soil Survey and the definition of wetlands and watercourses as found in the Connecticut General Statutes Chapter 440, Section 22A-38. The wetlands are found in the northwestern portion of the site. The soils in this area were identified as being from the very poorly drained Walpole Series. The area is forested with mixed hardwood species and has a fairly dense shrub layer along the edges. Pockets of shallow standing water were present during the wetland delineation. The soils in the undeveloped land to the south of the wetlands were classified as a Udorthent. This area has been filled and reworked in the past.
