Drainage Swale
Dear Mr. Moran:
This is to inform the Commission of our plans to clean up the drainage
swale that runs from Rye Street, near the AM-PM store to the rear of
Firehouse #3 . In its present state, the swale is a derelict
receptacle for trash . It is our intent to maintain the swale as a
water course and a landscape feature for the site.
After consulting with Mr . Scherer of the Soil Conservation Service and
Mr. Davies of the town staff, the following scenario has been set:
1. Town Tree Warden to mark the desirable trees to remain along
the swale
2 . Cut and remove dead and unmarked vegetation and the accumulated
trash , (no excavation or filling will occur at this time )
3 . Inventory the swale as a basis for the development of a
conservation and landscape plan for the swale.
4 . Present plan to the Commission
At this point we have set no timetable for beginning this action. We
will be working on the landscape plan through the coming winter
season, therefore, we will be finished with the inventory process by
the end of October 1988.
We will be pleased to answer any questions the commission may have
concerning this matter .

RE: Application #88-50P, construction of a machine shop facility
Dear Madam/Sir:
This is a reminder that the permit with the Inland Wetlands
Agency/Conservation Commission, Application #88-50P will expire on
June 27, 1989 .
The Agency requires a letter requesting extension together with a
fee of $25. 00. This should be submitted at least 45 days prior to
the expiration date of the permit. If work has been finished or
will be finished by the expiration date, please have an engineer
send a letter stating work is completed according to the approved
plan.
In the event that you are requesting an extension, Section 4.13. 6
of the Zoning Regulations, Conservation Plan (a copy enclosed)
establishes the criteria for such a plan and a method of monitoring
its application. A permit for your proposal was granted, with a
bond as assurance of compliance with its sedimentation and erosion
control measures . To assist in the review process by the IWA/CC,
whether for a permit extension or specific inquiry request, the
provisions for verification through progress reports by the
developer's/applicant's Engineer demonstrating that each Erosion
and Sedimentation control measure has been installed and
maintained, in accordance with the approved plan shall be required.
It is requested that this verification report be submitted thirty
days before the regular meeting of the IWA/CC, May 8, 1989, to
permit time for the Commissioners to evaluate your project
controls .
If you have any questions, please contact Phyllis Mann or John
McCahill, Zoning/Wetlands Enforcement Officer. (644-2511 Ext. 253)
