Dear Mr. Charbonneau: CONSERVATION COMMISS101W
At your request, on 3-9-89, I performed an on site investigation
of the soils on your property at 651 Sullivan Ave. , South
Windsor for purposes of mapping the wetland soils on that
property. I found none.
The entire site has been filled with various kinds of material.
With the aid of a backhoe (frozen ground to a depth of about
8" ) four test pits were dug.
The results were as follows:

The results showed that the site was uniform with varying
amounts of fill, none of which had been placed in a wetland

Developer Truck Trailers, 651 Sullivan Avenue, South Windsor,
Connecticut, 289-8285, prepared by Palmberq and Russo, 15
Barber Pond Road, Bloomfield, CT, Scale 1 "=201 , revised 3-13-

Data was collected using USDA-SCS criteria for poorly drainedq
very poorly drained, alluvial and flood plain soils.
I hope the above proves sufficient for your purposes. If you
have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

DOCUMENTS REVIEWED: Application form, site plans and letter
from Hart Soil Services, Inc. (3/13/89)
COMMENTS:
1 . This site is indicated on the Town of South Windsor
Wetlands map as one with wetlands . The letter submitted by
Hart Soil Services, Inc. indicates there are no wetland
soils on the site. Four test pits are indicated on the map
and this area has been extensively re-worked in the. past.
2 . There is a drainage swale along the easterly property line.
It is a small swale about a foot deep and extends from the
front to the rear of the site. It would be the
Commission's decision whether or not this swale is
regulated. I have attached information from the State
Department of Environmental Protection wetlands management
section regarding this matter.
3 . The proposed building addition and site work will. result in
minimal disturbance of the site. It appears to be less
than 1/2 acre and if that is the case would not need a
conservation approval. This should be verified by the
applicant.
4 . I would recommend additional silt fence along the area
where existing parking is to be removed and seeded. The
drainage swale should also be cleaned regarding litter and
brush presently in it.
