Hyyppa & Associates 124 Hebron Avenue V Glastonbury, Connecticut 06033 Date 3-30-89 Re: Map #87-83-1C, Prepared For South Windsor Restaurant. Dear Mr. Smith On March 29, 1989, at your request, the wetlands, as defined by Connecticut Statutes Section 22a-37( 15 ) , i. e. , those soil types designated as poorly drained , very poorly drained, alluvial, or floodplain by the Nation Cooperative Soil Survey, were delineated on a portion of land with frontage on Newberry Road and John Fitch Boulevard, in the town of South Windsor, Connecticut. Soils were examined to the extent necessary to classify them at the soil series level according to the system of soil classification used by the National Cooperative Soil Survey ( Soil Survey Staff, 1975 , SOIL TAXONOMY, U. S. Government Printing office, Washington D. C. ) by exposing soil profiles with a spade and augar. Wetland flagging was placed along the banks of the stream that passes through the property. The stream is one of the upper reaches of the Newberry Brook watershed. The stream enters the property from the south east originating from the 60 inch pipe that passes under John Fitch Boulevard. The wetland boundary abruptly -follows the edge of the water course. The soils up slope of the wetland are Excessively well drained sandy loam of the Windsor soil series. Additional information about the soils around the site can be found in the Hartford County Soil Survey which is available at the district office of the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service in Windsor, Ct. All wetland boundary lines established by the undersigned Soil Scientist are subject to change until officially adopted by local, state or federal regulatory agencies.
