We would like to build a garage in the back of our property so that we may use the front of the property for a larger leaching field. If we are able to move the garage to the back of the house, we would have more square footage for a leaching field. We are in desperate need of this, our septic system is now failing. This has been getting progressively worse over the past several years. For the last 10 years or so,we have been doing our laundry outside the home. It has only been within the last few years that the problems have been getting progressively worse, We must use showers as they are much quicker and do not use as much water as taking a bath. Flushing the toilet, you must wait about 15-20 minutes before flushing again as it takes that long to make room for more water going into the system: The reasons why we would like to go closer to the property line are as follows: I. In the back of the house, the foundation for the existing garage measures 14'. To have a proper depth garage,we need to be able to build closer to the property line. 2. Our recreation room(basement)door is in the way. 3. Double windows are in the way. 4. The door is cut into the foundation and cannot be moved. 5. The first floor bay window would interfere with the garage roof. The reasons why we feel we should be able to build closer, and grant a variance in relation to the property line; The property at 80 Miller Road has deeded us right of way rights for use of the driveway and allow us to pave a driveway up to it. This piece of property is approximately 50' wide. The house on the next property over, would still be approximately 78' from the edge of our proposed garage.
