The problem we are faced with is that we live on a corner lot and our house was built angled to the offset lines. To make a two car garage fit, so that we can keep a ten foot offset to our neighbor,to the west of us,we must angle the addition to the house, making this more difficult to build, but do-able. We are asking to be allowed to build the garage 6'-1"over the 40' offset on the front of our lot. This would allow us to have a large enough garage bay for safe and ample parking. We also have what you might call a mud room in the back of the first bay which we would like to keep because it will provide us with a buffer and transition area between the existing house, garage, and basement. Switzer 6 Plum Lane South Windsor, CT 06074 Re: Appl. #2572-03—Michael J. Switzer, 6 Plum Lane,A-20 zone Dear Mr. Switzer: At the meeting of the South Windsor Zoning Board of Appeals held on April 3, 2003, the Board approved-your request for a 6' variance to section 10.2 to allow a proposed addition 34' from the front property line, at 6 Plum Lane, A-20 zone. The Board concluded the hardship to be as follows: 1. The house is centered on the property, making it impossible to construct an addition without the need for a variance. 2. The house is angled to the property lines making it impossible to construct an addition without the need for a variance. Any new building, or alteration/additions to existing buildings, requires a building permit prior to start of construction. These actions are effective upon your filing the enclosed form in the Town Clerk's Office at your own expense.
