Building off the rear of the structure will limit the safe recreation area(Ball Playing Etc.)
of our children, which will force the children to play in the front yard, on a cut through
street with motorists that exceed the posted speed limit and increases the odds that one of
them will be hit.
Concerned about the negative impact on the catch basin for the water run of f of Chapel
Road, which supplies the stream that will present an attractive nuisance, hazard for my
children and there friends.
Immediate neighbors have serious water intrusions issues such that preventative measures
have no effect. In as much as we are located on the lower elevation the problem and
consequent water damage will be compounded.

Addition of Second Floor
Dear Paul,
This letter is to certify that our office has reviewed the existing structure with regard to
the proposed addition of a second floor above the current main floor living level.
Our calculations indicate that the existing structure (framing and foundations) has
adequate capacity to support the added dead load of the prefabricated 2nd floor structure
in addition to the added live loading of 40 p.s.f. required by code for the 2nd floor area.
Should you have any questions concerning the above, please call.
Very truly yours,

RE: Application for Variance submitted by Paul and Kim Foote, 77 Gail Lane
Dear Mr. Warren:
We are all neighbors of Paul and Kim Foote and hereby submit this letter in
support of their request for a variance. It is our understanding that the Town of South
Windsor's regulations require that a residential home have no more than 2 '/z stories and
that according to the Town's definitions, the plans submitted by the Footes create a three
story home, thus requiring the need for a variance. We are all familiar with the Foote's
plans and have no objection to the plans currently before the Zoning Board of Appeals
which plans include an additional story to their home.
Respectfully submitted,
Ted and Maura Horan

Re: Appl. #2617-04— Paul & Kim Foote, 77 Gail Lane, A-20 zone
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Foote:
At the meeting of the South Windsor Zoning Board of Appeals held on May 6, 2004, the
Board approved with conditions your request for a variance to section 10.2 to allow a third
story addition to an existing house, for property located at 77 Gail Lane, A-20 zone.
The Board concluded the hardship on the property to be as follows:
The standing water from the pond and stream prevents placing an addition to the rear
of the existing house.
The following condition was placed on this approval: Approval is contingent upon the
addition being consistent with the architectural elevation drawing submitted with the
application.
Any new building, or alteration/additions to existing buildings, requires a building permit
prior to start of construction.
These actions are effective upon your filing the enclosed form in the Town Clerk's Office
at your own expense.
Very truly yours,
ephen Wagner, Chairperson
