At the February 24, 1998 meeting of the. South Windsor Planning & Zoning Commission, your
request for a two year temporary and conditional permit to allow storage of a boat on property at
189 Brookfield Street, A-20 zone has been granted subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. Permit is for two years maximum period.
This action is effective February 24, 1998. The permit will expire in two years, February 24, 2000.

PETOCK T & C PERMIT RENEWAL - PH 3/14/00
1. Request for renewal of a temporary and conditional permit for storage of
a boat within a shed that is 2-3 feet from the property line in an A-20
zone (10 feet required). (Note that the parking of boat trailers is permitted
only on that part of the lot that is within the front and side building lines,
and not closer to the rear boundary than 10 feet.) ZBA first granted
approval to this request in February 1990, then renewed it in December
1991 and in December 1993. The permit did expire in December 1995. In
all of the ZBA approval letters, there was a statement that, "T� nit

use is he_continued " The PZC renewed this permit in February of
1998 with the same conditions.
2. The wording of the T & C permit regulation is that, "Temporary and
conditional permits may be granted by the Commission for a use which is
not specified elsewhere in these regulations for a period not to exceed two
years. Such approval may be given after a Public Hearing if, in the
judgment of the Commission, the public convenience and welfare will be
substantially served, and the appropriate use of neighboring property will
not be substantially or permanently injured, and traffic and other hazards
will not result from such use."
3. The A-20 zone allows sheds and accessory structures, but they must be
located within the applicable building setbacks. T.herefar-e;th..T&.0

4. Becauserof tie length of time that this use has existed with ZBA
app�oal, the Commission may want to,explore alternatives fpr-the yfuture
with the pphcarit, in combination.-with a permit renewal-for a limited

Please be advised that the Planning and Zoning Commission at its March 14, 2000,
meeting approved the above-referenced request for a temporary and conditional permit
to allow a boat garage on the side of the house on property at 189 Brookfield St., A-20
zone. This approval is subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. This permit is for two years and will expire on March 14, 2002.
If this use is to be continued beyond this date, a renewal will be required.
