The Commission notes the following concerns: ♦ It was represented at the meeting that there are current drainage issues on this portion of the site. ♦ This favorable recommendation does not imply future subdivision for interior lots, nor does it imply any approval for access in any particular location. ♦ This action precludes the use of this right-of way by the Town in the future for any non-vehicular(e.g. pedestrian) access if the Town were to deem it desirable to have a pedestrian access between Foster Street and Palmer Drive If you have any questions, please contact the Planning Department at 644-2511, ext. 253. All of the improvments that were bonded for this project have been substantially completed. The new trees that were bonded have been planted but I understand we hold landscaping bonds for at least one growing season. I have been told that the iron pins have been set, however, I need to receive a letter from the Engineer certifying they are all set according to the approved subdivision plans. Based on the above information, I recommend that the bond for the cloutier subdivision be reduced from $76,900 to $10,870. This amount will cover the landscaping for the acceptance period and certification of the iron pins. Doolittle, P.E., Town Engineer Date: 6/20/02 RE: 595 Felt Road Mr. Ben Cloutier came into the office this morning and said he is paving his driveway per the approved plans/co for his subdivision. He wanted it inspected so we could release his bond. I went out to this site about 10:00 am and the paving crew was on site. The driveway was being paved 18 feet wide, in two lifts that totaled approximately 2 inches. (It was more along most edges) They were rolling it with a small (2 ton) static roller and they said this was adequate for a driveway if done correctly. There were no roller marks visible and the center joint was well closed. Mr Cloutier said the paving company rolled the gravel before they paved and it had been rolled recently (last week) by M. Covensky. The driveway was paved from Palmer Drive to just beyond the first driveway on the left. The said this was bout 275 feet long. This driveway should be about 63 tons of bituminous concrete. There was not much gravel base course visible sticking out from the sides of the Bit. The edges need to be filled with topsoil and seeded. Overall it was an acceptable job for a driveway.
