A 26-minute time of concentration was used for the runoff calculations for existing conditions. A 14-minute time of concentration was used for the runoff calculations for the proposed conditions. Conclusions More than sufficient capacity will exist in the system to handle a 10 year+ storm. Introduction The subject of this drainage study is approximately 1.4± acres located on the south west side of Commerce Way in South Windsor, Connecticut_ Under existing conditions, the site and adjacent undeveloped lot drain to the north west side of the property, with a small portion approximately .25 Ac draining north to Commerce Way. The proposed improvements to the site include the construction of a Office/warehouse with parking for 42 vehicles, and a storm water management system. Collection of storm water will be through a series of catch basins to be connected to an existing catch basin in Commerce Way. Storm water detention is provided by a common detention area which is part of the Industrial park. Methodology The S C S method was used to determine 2, 10, 25, 50 and 100 year storm discharges for pre-existing and for proposed conditions. Triangular hydrographs were generated and flood routed through the designed detention basin and storage by the use of the Storage Indication Method of flood routing. From: Jeffrey H. Folger-Zoning/Wetland Enforcement Officer Date: April 13, 1999 Re: Appl#99-23P E&S Review of the proposed W.J. Mountford Inc. industrial site, Plans dated 3/25/99. The project is to construct an 8400sgft industrial building on 61,000sgft located at Commerce Way. Site: The site is located in the Scantic River watershed. The parcel is comprised of 1.5 acres. Currently the site is open and grassed.. There are no wetlands on the site or 40 feet from the property boundaries. The site is comprised of medium and fine sands overlaying silts and clays. Erosion potential is expected to be low because the site is pretty level. Planned erosion controls appear to be adequate for the project. Stormwater is planned to be controlled by catchbasins and pipes to the road and into the existing detention basin serving the entire street. Catchbasins will be fitted with trap hoods to capture floatables, and a sediment chamber is planned as the last structure before the road to capture sediment. o x F 70-iwn saab(-t ?d, a 1540 SULLIVAN AVENUE • SOUTH WINDSOR, CONN. 06074 4fosOR-CO AREA CODE 860/644-2511 April 27, 1999 Certified #P462497995 MT.
