Dear Jeff:
Re: East Hartford Sand & Gravel
Extension of Permit 92-34P
South Windsor,Connecticut
DPI Project No. 86-119
On behalf of our client, East Hartford Sand & Gravel ,
we hereby request an extension of the above-referenced
permit. Enclosed is our check in the amount of $35 . 00 .
We request that the application incorporate by reference
the documentation and record of the original application,
and of application 87-467, which expires in the fall of
1997 .
The work associated with this permit covers phases
IV-VII , which is continuing. EHS&G is now excavating in
phase IV, and has completed .excavations in I-III . This
ongoing work requires a continuation of 92-34P. We are
unaware of any changes in facts or circumstances which
involve or affect wetlands on the subject property. An
engineer from our office will be meeting with you and
Mr. Silvestri on the site later this week so as to deter-
mine what erosion control measures are appropriate at this
time.
Please accept our apology for the late hour for this
request. Apparently some confusion existed on our part,
specifically we thought the permit was expiring a year
from this month, but in fact that permit only applies to
the first three phases .
Kindly notify this office if anyone needs to be present
when this item appears before the Agency. An engineer ' s re-
port will be forthcoming after our on-site eting. Thank you.
Sincerely,

RE: EAST HARTFORD SAND & GRAVEL 98-03
We have reviewed the drawings dated 5-7-93 and the easement document for East
Hartford Sand & Gravel and have the following comments:
1. Drawing Sheet Index should include sheet 1 of 1, "As Built— Phase IV", and the
title sheet should indicate"revised Oct. 6, 1997".
2. The easement document:
a. References a map on file but the reference has the wrong revision date and
indicates "'Sheet 3/4"and it should be"Sheet 3/5".
b. This easement should have been filed prior to Phase IV being started. The
drainage swale is apparently being used without the easement in place.
c. A schedule"A" should be included describing the easement with distances
and bearings.
3. If this application is approved, we ask that the applicant be strongly reminded
that all erosion and control measures must be adhered to as per the proposed
plans as there was some difficulty with the prior phase.
4. A-2 Certification is required.
