Temporary and Conditional Permit 9/23/97
1. Request for a 90 day (Sept., October and November) temporary and
conditional permit for a sign advertising SW High School football
games, located in front of Geissler's Plaza on Sullivan Ave., GC zone
2. The wording of the temporary and conditional permit is that,
"Temporary and conditional permits may be granted by the
Commission for a use which is not specified elsewhere in these
regulations for a period of time not to exceed two years. Such
approval may be given after a Public hearing, if in the judgement of
the Commission, the public convenience and welfare will be
substantially served, and the appropriate use of neighboring property
will not be substantially or permanently injured, and traffic and other
hazards will not result from such use."
3. There are no provisions in the existing sign regulations which would
accommodate this type of signage. However, the draft proposed sign
regulations prepared by the signs subcommittee has a provision that
would allow these signs for a period of 90 days prior to the event with
approval from PZC or its designee.
If this application is approved, Planning Dept. has no requested
modifications.

At the September 23, 1997 meeting of the South Windsor Planning & Zoning Commission,
your request for a temporary and conditional permit to allow a portable sign to announce
SWHS football games, to be located in front of Geissler's Plaza, 959-1015 Sullivan Avenue
has been granted subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. Permit is for ninety (90) days maximum period.
This action is effective September 23, 1997. The permit will expire in ninety (90) days,
December 27 1997.
