Re: Redland Brick, Inc./Belden Brick Company SOUTH WINDSOR PLANNING 00,

South Windsor, Connecticut
Dear Vice Chairman Mealy and Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission:
This letter is intended to provide you with an update on the status of efforts by Belden
Brick Company (doing business as Redland Brick, Inc. or "RBI") to prepare an application for an
earth removal permit for property currently owned by Enet Silvestri. As we informed the
Commission on July 20, 1999, RBI was in the process of retaining another civil engineering firm
to pr pare the necessary materials. RBI has since retained both Fuss & O'Neill, Inc. of
ManZhester and New England Environmental Services of Marlborough to assist it in preparing
these application materials. RBI is also discussing the transfer of ownership of the property from
Enet Silvestri.
At this time, work on these application materials is underway. RBI anticipates submitting
an application for an earth removal permit by November 15. 1999.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Thomas P. Cody
