SOUTH WINDSOR, CT 06074
DEAR CANDIDATE:
On behalf of the Department of Public Health, I congratulate
you upon the successful completion of all requirements for
licensure as a Massage Therapist in the State of Connecticut.
Connecticut license 001594 has been issued to you, effective
the date of this letter. Your actual license will be sent to
you at a later date.
It is your responsibility to notify the Department of Public
Health, Licensure and Registration Section, in writing, of any
changes of name, residence address or business address, either
within or outside Connecticut. Such notification to the
Department of Public Health is required by law; failure to
provide same may jeopardize the status of your license.
Failure to renew your license within ninety (90) days of the
due date will result in your license becoming void. In that
event, re-licensure would require a new application to the
Department and a review of all credentials to determine
whether you satisfy current licensing requirements. In order
to avoid such a process, be sure that you renew your license
in a timely manner each year in the month of your birth.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the renewal
of your license, please contact the Licensure and Registration
Section at (860) 509-7603/7596.
I wish you success in your career.
Respectfully,
Debra L. Johnson

RE: Application for business at 149 Kent Lane 08111148 & Zoning Commission
Dear Sirs,
We are opposed to any zone change that might allow a home based business in our neighborhood We feel that any
business opened in a residential neighborhood will ruin the character of that neighborhood,as well as attract
strangers to an area were many children play, increase traffic and lend a commercial feeling to the area.
We trust that you will take our strong opposition to this application into consideration in making your decision.
Sincerely,
Jayne and Cohen

Re: APPLICATION NO. 9761P
Gentlemen:
I have been a resident of the Town of South Windsor for over 16 years and currently reside at 141
Tumblebrook Drive. The purpose of this correspondence is to object to the above application for a major
home occupation located on Kent Lane. At the outset, I want to state that I have known the Gilsenan
family for more than 10 years and consider them friends and neighbors.
My objection is that to allow a major home occupation would destroy the residential nature of the
existing neighborhood. In this regard, there will undoubtedly be an increase in traffic and on street traffic
by businesses locating in our neighborhood. In addition, although this application may not include a
street sign, I have been advised that an additional application in the future may permit such a sign. One
sign will inevitably lead to more, which again will destroy the residential nature of our neighborhood.
I have also been advised that the nature of the business to be conducted is massage therapy. As an
attorney who sometimes deals in occupational injuries, I am well aware of the medical benefits that
massage therapy can bring. In addition, I am certain that the Gilsenan's business will be conducted in the
highest ideals of the profession. However, it is my firm belief that businesses of this nature should not be
conducted in a residential setting. As recent events in Hartford have disclosed, if this application is
approved, the Board would be hard pressed to deny a similar application from a less scrupulous proprietor
to open a"massage parlor."
A prior business commitment prevents me from personally attending the hearing on this matter. I
thank you in advance for your consideration of this correspondence.
Very truly yours,
Robert M. Cheverie

We undersigned residents of Kent Lane and the surrounding neighborhood, are opposed to the
granting of a use variance which would allow operation of a business at 149 Kent Lane.
The character of this neighborhood is and always has been residential. It is home to scores of
young children, which fact makes even less desirable the added traffic that a business will bring.
Neither do the families without children deserve to have the peace and quiet of their
neighborhood disrupted by commercial activities.
People wishing to pursue business endeavors have many options available to them that do not
involve harm to other people's interests. We believe approval of the requested variance will do
just such unnecessary harm to our interests.
