SUBJECT: DRIVEWAY CONSTRUCTION CRITERIA
Per your inquiry, the following guidelines are typically used by
this Department when reviewing proposed driveway construction:
1 . Driveway should be approximately 15 feet wide at
the curb line of street and 10 feet wide at
property line.
2 . Driveway should be constructed so as to not change
or direct water onto an adjoining property.
3 . Access to the house (if a long driveway) should
meet necessary widths and turning radius for
emergency service vehicles.
4 . Turnaround should be provided for long driveways
and/or driveways which access streets with heavy
traffic.
5 . Materials of construction should consider site soil
conditions and drainage.
