Dear Members: This letter is to express my opposition to the zone change being proposed at 331 Smith Street. I have to be out of town on May 14 so I will not be able to attend the scheduled Public Hearings. The residents of this section of Smith Street(from Wheeler to Buckland)have worked long and hard to preserve the neighborhood atmosphere. The need to protect our quality of life is greater than ever. I can not support a zone change that would create additional traffic and disruption. There are several small children and babies in the area of the requested change and I believe they would be at a higher level of risk from the increased traffic. The driveway of this residence is located just below the crest of a small hill. This will create dangerous sight-line problems for people who are entering and exiting from this property and other traffic using Smith Street. Please do not allow this change. Approving a business which creates traffic and entrances and exits right in the middle of a residential street would clearly not be appropriate. Thank you. Sincerely, Leo A.
