We are requesting a variance of 5 feet We will need the extra footage on our
side lot in order to build a two-car garage. (While we only need 4 feet, our
surveyor has advised us to ask for 5 feet because our survey is only a Class D.)
We are asking for the variance because our chimney sits on that side of the
house, and will pose a clearance problem for our vehicles.
We have spoken with our carpenter about this, and though positioning the
garage in this way will be a greater expense, it is most important to us to
maintain the aesthetics of the house with the added structures.
