A Class D or better survey of the property in question must be submitted with the
application showing streets, lot lines, building lines, zone boundary lines, dimensions,
and buildings present or proposed, and buildings on adjacent properties and distance
from subject property.
- If a variance is being requested, a legal description of the property must be submitted
with the application. This description can be obtained from mortgage records.
- The sign from the Planning Department must be displayed on the property at least 10 days
prior to the public hearing in a location visible from all abutting streets.
The applicant, or a representative, must be present for the public hearing. The time,
date and place of the hearing will be advised by mail.

The only identification of the Pleasant Valley School building is the
name, in letters on the side of the school. These letters are obstructed from
view by a large tree. Also the letters on the side of the building cannot be
seen at night. We propose having an electrician install two small
spot lights at some time in the future. These lights would shine .
directly on each side of the sign and would not be offensive to area
residents . The lights would be lit from dusig; until 10: 00 PM

At the meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals held on February 4,
1993, a variance to Section 4. 1 . 5 of the zoning regulations to
allow a second sign, 12 square feet in area, at Pleasant Valley
School , 591 Ellington Road, RR Zone was granted.
The following condition applies : illumination of said sign shall
be from dusk to 10:00 p.m.
The Board noted the hardship with this appeal is due to limited
visibil -ity of existing sign which is blocked by trees .
This action is effective February 4, 1993 and upon your filing of
the enclosed form in the Town Clerk' s office at your own expense.
