Dear Ms . Collins :
At the meeting of the South Windsor Zoning Board of Appeals held
on January 7 , 1993, the Board denied without prejudice the above
referenced variance request to Section 4 . 1 . 5 of the Zoning
Regulations to allow more than one 12 square foot sign on
property at 591 Ellington Road, Pleasant Valley School , RR Zone.
The reasons for denial without prejudice are as follows :
1 . The distance of the location of the sign from Ellington
Road was inaccurate on the plans submitted with the
application. It was presented at the public hearing
that the sign would be located 3 feet from the road
which conflicted with the plans indicating 38 feet .
2 . Representatives of the Pleasant Valley School PTO
appeared at said hearing; however there were no letters
contained within the application stating that the South
Windsor Board of Education approved the proposed sign .
It is suggested that said application be refiled indicating the
Pleasant Valley School PTO as the applicant, providing letters of
the South Windsor Board of Education ' s approval of said sign and
correctly reflecting the proper location of the sign from
South Windsor Board of Education

Ellington Road . It should be noted that the Board was concerned
with the location of the sign being 3 feet from Ellington Road
which could result in a safety hazard for sight of children by
traffic as well as problems during the winter season with plowed
snow covering the sign .
