1. The Town of South Windsor owns a right away of about 2S feet from
the edge of Main Street into the front yard. This ownership by Town
brings the front lot line very close to the house. However, one's
perception from viewing the placement of the house on the lot and the
dwelling coverage with this portion of land included, the house does
not appear out of place with the character of Main Street.
2. Both my wife and I have an aged parent who we may want to house
with us during their declining years. Recently her mother broke her
hip and is convalescing from this injury. Once she completes her
recovery and therapy it is our intent to have her live with us for
extended periods. Also recently, our youngest daughter was diagnosed
with the acute onset of Graves disease. She is currently receiving
radiation therapy and depending on the outcome, she may be
returning home for an extended period. In both of these cases, the
individuals would feel comfortable only on having their own private
quarters.

RE: ZBA Application #2069-92: Leroy VanderPutten
1076 Main Street
Dear Mr . VanderPutten :
At the meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals held on September
3, 1992 , the Board granted a variance to Sections 10 . 2 , 4 . 3 . 5 and
4 . 1 . 4f of the Zoning Regulations to allow over 15% impervious lot
coverage; front yard setback and one more garage bay than
permitted on property located at 1076 Main Street , A-40 Zone, as
referenced on the map submitted with your application.
The hardships placed with this appeal is that the front yard
setback was in existence before latest regulations were
implemented causing it to become non-conforming; size and
intended family use makes a 4 car garage appropriate and total
expansion of building is to the rear which does not deteriorate
from appearance of property from the street or side yards .
This action is effective September 3, 1992 and upon your filing
of the enclosed form in the Town Clerk' s office at your own
expense.
Very truly yours ,
Robert W. Warren , Chairman
Zoning Board of Appeals
