The Beginning...
The Town of Brighton, New York,
Y had a problem.
This suburb of Rochester, with 141 miles of streets to be maintained
through Western New York winters, was losing up to five percent of its road
salt every year through exposure to the elements.
To solve the problem, the town fathers and their advisors created a set of
performance specifications for their ideal salt storage facility, which was to
be rectangular,able to store at least 2,000 tons,and include a 30-foot clear
height to allow salt to be dumped inside the building.
Working with the town, the engineering firm of Orfi and Underhill
developed a new and superior design for a radically different storage
facility-not just for salt, but for a myriad of materials.
Known as the Hi Arch Gambrel;" the system is ecologically sound,
The Hi-Arch Gambrei's7' patented truss system extremely flexible, and cost efficient; it offers storage potential which is

in A Class k3y Itself.
The Hi-Arch Gambrel'" is unique. Its patented truss system permits storage advan-
tages that no other competitive facility can match.
A 30-foot-plus vertical clearance means that dumping, mixing, and loading opera-
tions can be done completely under the cover of the building. Think what that will
mean in terms of time and labor savings as well as improved employee morale. Clearly,
you'll experience a safer working environment and enhanced worker productivity.
The Hi-Arch Gambrel'" is a winner in today's cost-conscious climate. Your payback
period will be greatly reduced because of: less wear and tear on equipment; elimina-
tion of salt loss from wind, moisture, and double handling; elimination of frozen, I
lumpy salt; reduced payroll;and reduced exposure to risk. The structure also addresses
environmental concerns by preventing leaching of materials into the soil and
ground water.
The Hi Arch Gambrel" is an aesthetically pleasing structure which can be stained
any color, uses non-corrosible material in its construction, and requires little or no A 30-foot-plus vertical clearance allows
maintenance. There's no need to purchase other equipment, such as conveyors or for all dumping, mixing and loading to
ventilation fans. Its flexible configuration means easy adaptation to site conditions and be done inside.
your particular storage needs. Easy expandability makes sure that your storage facility
grows as your community and its needs grow.
