necessary). It is our intention to utilize this building in a manner which financially
will allow it to remain an attractive reminder of South Windsor's past. It has historically
since its construction in approximately 1725 Home, grocery
store and post office, in varying combinations has been its purpose. It is generally
agreed that the Post Office is one of the ten oldest in America and definitely a piece
of history which deserves preserving. It is also a fact that financially, the postal—
department would be better served without it. With the above in mind, you can realize the
reluctance that exists to raise the rent into current market values. We, therefore, ask
permission to allow the residential tenant to operate a mail order retail store in
the area previously occupied by The Giving Tree. The store will be for Books, Note Cards,—
Prints, Lithographs, Bird Feeders, Wreaths of natural material and generally items
relating to nature. The store's name will be "NATURP S OWN". We have spoken• with
all the neighbors and have their support.

Zoning Board of Appeals requesting a two year temporary &

is that this be for a mail order business only with no retail sales .
