Steeltech Building Products - Strong Rd. - #95-16P (See Memo)
Frank Ahern - Buckland Rd - #95-51W A visit to the site on 5/16/95 revealed a stable
berm apparently blocking an intermittent watercourse that flows east to west along the
southern boundary of the property. There does not appear to be evidence of ponding
behind the berm (ie: hydrophytic vegetation, or matting of existing grass and leaves).
By the amount of scouring on the bottom and banks of the watercourse below the berm,
water is still flowing in the channel.

COMMENTS :
1 . Drainage calculations should be provided with this application.
They are planning to use several drywells for the storage of
stormwater. Soil conditions and groundwater information should
also be provided for the areas of the proposed drywells .
2 . This property does not appear to have any regulated wetlands or
watercourses . This should be noted on the plans . (They are
submitting for conservation plan approval of the proposed soil
erosion and sediment control measures . )
3 . The plans submitted are at the scale of one inch to twenty feet ( 1"
: 20 ' ) .
4 . A detail should be included on the plans for the proposed drywells .
5 . There are a number of trees (maples, oaks, and pines ) located along
the northwesterly property line. These should be labeled as
"remaining" or "to be removed" . It would appear that some of these
trees may be damaged as a result of the proposed storm system
installation. They should consider relocating some of the
subsurface activities, if possible, to prevent damage to the root
systems of the trees .
6 . A detail should be provided on the plans for the proposed
construction entrance.
7 . A detail should be provided on the plans showing the proper
installation of siltation control fence.
8 . A detail should be provided to show how catch basin protection will
be accomplished.
9 . The construction sequence on sheet 4 of 7 , note #1 , makes reference
to a meeting with the "building department" . This should be worded
with "Town Staff" ; which will also include the Planning Department
and Engineering Department.
10 . The plans should make necessary provisions and notes to ensure
proper dust control .
Elizabeth A. Warren - 2 - December 15 1994
Application #94-49P
11 . There are a number of stockpiles (topsoil, etc. ) on this site.
These stockpiles should be utilized as needed.
12 . Revised plans, and additional information, should be submitted to
Town Staff for review prior to presentation of the application to
the Commission.
