Dear Attorney Woodcock:
The application of Hugo and Josephine Patelli to the South Windsor
Zoning Board of Appeals requesting a variance to Section 4.3 of the
Zoning Regulations to allow a seasonal retail collectables business out
of a barn to the rear of property located at 1135 Sullivan Avenue,
South Windsor, has been granted, subject to the following:
1. This family retail business shall be limited to sales during day-
light hours. This business is seasonal in that the barn shall
remain unheated.
2. All sales shall take place inside the barn. There shall be no
outside displaying of merchandise and no attempt to encourage impulse
stopping by signs or displays.
3. There shall be no advertising or promotional announcements designed
to attract large numbers of people. Events, such as flea markets,
tag slaes or auctions are not allowed.
4. There shall be no parking on Sullivan Avenue, and entrance and exit
points and parking areas shall be clearly marked on the property.
In granting this variance, the Board noted other commercial structures
in the vicinity and that this seasonal business would not significantly
alter the character of the neighborhood.
This action is effective March 22, 1985, and upon your filing the enclosed
form in the Town Clerk's Office.
Very truly yours,
Thomas Murrin, Chairman
Zoning Board of Appeals
