Dear Mr. Riquier:
Your application to the South Windsor Zoning Board of Appeals
requesting a variance of Article 4.4.3, Section 4 to allow a
sign- larger than 12 square feet on existing free standing sign
location on premises known as 1017 Sullivan Avenue, Zone RC
has been granted.
The Board voted to grant this application because it was felt the
sign was necessary in order to locate the restaurant which is in a
shopping center off the main road. This application was granted
subject to the following conditions: there shall be two 4' x 5'
signs as shown on the sketch with the sign being modified to
eliminate the crest sign on top; the top of the sign shall be no
more than 17' frm the ground at the base of the supporting pole;
the upper sign may be internally illuminated; spotlights for the
leer sign may be used so long as they do not interfere with safe
driving on Sullivan Avenue and do not create any hazards. The
Board felt granting of this variance was not out of harmony with
the general purpose and intent of the zoning laws and regulations
and the public health, safety, convenience, welfare and property
values are protected and not harmed.
This action is effective December. 17, 1980 and upon filing of the form
which you presently have to fill in with the legal description of the
Property. This form must be returned to me for my signature before
it can be filed in the Tma"n Clerk's Off'ice.
