PRE SERVICE DRAINAGE CALCULATIONS PRESS SERVICES STORM WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Design Storm: SCS - 24 Hour Duration TYPE III Distribution Total Site Area = 2 Acres The site is predominately a moderately well drained Ninigret soil in the hydrologic group "B". Pre/Post development hydrographs were developed using the SCS TR55 VER 1.11 "Urban Hydrology For Small Watershed" computer program. Site was analyzed for 2 year, 10 year, 25 year, 50 year, 100 utilizing Hartford County rainfall data. On site piping design was done by the rational method for a 10 year storm as prescribed by the Town of South Windsor. Time of concentration assumes instantaneous conveyance through piping. Existing inlet to the town storm drainage system was analyzed for a 25 year storm utilizing Federal Highway Administration "Hydraulic Design of Highway Culverts" computer program. Pre and post development flows were routed through the pipe to check over topping of the roadway. No over topping was encountered. Rey Map - Sheet CS The map lacks basic information such as names of abutters within 50 ft. radius, driveway cuts, etc. Layout Plan - Sheet SP-1 1 . Plan requires an L.S. Certification (A-2) 2 . The map reference is incorrect--it should read "Property of Gary R. & Dorothy J. Lamberg" . Also this map needs monument coordinates and datum indicated. 3 . The building is not tied to the boundary line as required by statl eS . - , ,-ec,_jaV(S an Grading & Utilities Plan - Sheet SP-2 Plan requires an L.S. Certification (A-2) . Building addition shows a separate sanitary sewer lateral. The lateral for the existing building should be utilized. 3 . The existing sanitary lateral needs to be shown fully. . If the area around the existing sanitary manhole in the easement is to be filled, this manhole needs to be raised to match the new grade line. 5 . The plan shows 2:1 slopes proposed within the sewer easement. This is unacceptable as maintenance vehicles cannot utilize the easement. Also the proposed swale for the existing outlet to catchbasin on Nutmeg encroaches onto the easement. Marcia A. Banach Page 2. Re: Press Services Addition #90-69P . The proposed grading on the north and west sides of the project directs storm runoff onto the adjacent property (lot 25) . 7 . Riprap should be placed at the existing inlet near the southwest corner of the property. A- Drawing shows storm pipe from existing catchbasin going under the proposed addition. This needs to be addressed. `4 What is the purpose of the 8" & 6" PVC along north side of proposed addition. Also how is transition to be made from 6 to 8" pipe and why is it necessary? How is transition from 8" to 10" PVC at corner of building to be made and why? 0 . Map referenced is not on file nor attached to submittal. JCl/jsv cc: Michael J.
