Re: Kinder-Care Learning Center, Inc.
Chapel Street and Ellington Road
Dear Commission Members:
This is to confirm that the applicant will be providing its own small
van to transport children to school where appropriate.
It will be unnecessary for a Town school bus to enter the premises.
I hope this clarifies any concerns you have over the issue of turn-
around space for large buses.
Very trul yours,

Re : Kinder-Care Learning Center, Inc .
Chapel Street and Ellington Road
Dear Members :
I wanted to write to you to inform you that Kinder-Care has
agreed with the immediately adjacent neighbors to plant up to four
hemlocks on their property ( off the site plan) , and I would like
this to be a part of the record.
The neighbors have been extremely nice, and this removes their
only objection to the application. They have visited the Simsbury
Kinder-Care which is identical to our proposal in South Windsor .
The reason this is so important is that all of the new
Kinder-Cares will be on the South Windsor/Simsbury models . The
earlier ones in Enfield and Manchester were older facilities which
have been rehabilitated and, therefore, not a reasonable comparison
to what will be the model in South Windsor .
I hope this is helpful . Thank you.
Ver truly yours,
Lewis B. Rome

Re: Application #1243 - Kinder-Care Learning Center, Inc.
Dear Atty. Rome:
Please be advised that the Planning and Zoning Commission voted at their
July 28, 1987 meeting to deny without prejudice your request for a Special
Exception ( to Section 4. 1c) and Site Plan to allow a day care center on
the northeast corner of Chapel and Ellington roads.
The Commissions reasons for denial were : 1 ) the overall tightness of the
site with a 6200 square foot building ; and 2) lack. of demonstration that
adequate parking would be provided during public events such as open
house.
Very truly yours ,
