Gilligan asked the Town Engine eer the purpose of abandoning
aewmarket Road. Mr. ; Martel said Said the northern portion would
abandoned. Mr. Gilligan said he was concerned with the people
-_iving on Newmarker, and it was clarified that it would be abandoned
from around Lot #170 north.
Gilligan asked i the Town Engineer expected to require , bonding
for Newmarker Road improvements, and Mr. Martel said yes, under
phase VI. Mr. Gilli an said that seems to be a little late in the
4me, after about 16 homes are built. He said it appears to him
bat this subdivision, along with the connection to the north i
Illington, will neednmore than one access to D rt Hill Road' lon before
yhase VI. He said tie Commission trust also pin so that if a developer
bandons a subdivision the necessary improvements for the resid nts
,ill be made. He asked if there its some possibility that the
mprovements to Newm4rker will be heeded before Phase VI. He a ked
f Newmarker will beused by people other than those living in
base VI. Mr. Martel said that from his viewpoint this is somewhat
,objective. Mr. Gilligan said he thinks the traffic will be a bit
iuch, and asked the rown Engineer if he greed', or if he th6ugh
the intersection of ebbie and Dart Hill could handle the traff c.
Martel said he w uld have to agree with Mr. Gilligan, and t at it
4rbbably should be d ne sooner.
.r
;r. Gilligan said he would like some input from either the sieve oper
t Town Engineer as to what point the Ne arke)r Road improvements
4come essential or assured to the Town. Mr. Gilligan said he
iderstands that this is an expensive improvement, but he doesn't
Vint 160 homes built and risk not 'getting the road improved.
. Clock said that ossibly under Phase V theK could come in with
,," improvements to ewmarker, since thatis to most northerly
it that would con ect all the sections. Mr. Gilligan said h
s asked the Town E gineer to givle the Commission some input on this,
d he doesn' t happe to agree with Mr. Clock' s analysis.
ere being no furth r comments, the public hearing was closed.
