lhank you for your inquiry about the condition of the water trench between
111 and 0595 Strong Road in South Windsor.
I have inspected this area and found that the trench repair is not up to
the MDC ' s usual standards. The trench edge was not cut back square but was
patched along a random edge such as that left when excavation is done
There is also some isolated settlement and settlement in front of the fire
hydrant. Cracks have appeared in areas where there is settlement ,
apparently from wheel load over an insufficient base or insufficient
compaction.
This trench should receive your attention this Spring when permanent
repairs can be made.

Dear Mr. Martel:
The one-year maintenance period on the above Project is about to
expire and we write to inquire if the condition of the water trench
surface in Strong Road from House #595 easterly to House #630 is
satisfactory to you at this time.
The work was completed under an Agreement between William Mitchell,
90 Brookfield Street, South Windsor, Connecticut, 06074 and The
Metropolitan District.
It will soon be time to release the balance of the Developer's
• deposit to him, but we desire your clearance on the trench surface
before so doing.
