This temporary patch does not meet the Town standards and is not acceptable as it was made with cold patch and is very rough. Town Staff have called CWC several times (11/4, 11/6, and 11/10) since this patch was done on or about November 4, 2008, and asked that this patch be repaired or replaced. As of today this has not been done to our satisfaction and this patch is already deteriorating. Enclosed are recent pictures taken of this patch. The current patch is hazardous because it is so rough, it may cause damage to Town snow plows and other vehicles, and it will not last the winter. This patch needs to be completely removed and replaced with 6 inches of compacted processed aggregate under at least 2 inches of hot mix bituminous concrete that is thoroughly compacted and is smooth to match the existing pavement. The joints of this patch need to be sealed with asphalt tack coat. This needs to be done immediately per section 86-42 of the Town Ordinance. Enclosed for your information is a copy of our Street Excavation Permit Manual with this information. Please contact us before this work is done. Please call me if you have any questions.
