RE: Underdrain repair— 135 Pierce Road (Permit No. 7367)
In the course of construction of a sewer lateral at the address above, the contractor
broke a 35' section of the 6" underdrain which had been installed during the 1974
reconstruction of Pierce Road.
The existing pipe was installed with the perforations up and is completely filled with
sand. The sand backfill probably still functions to control the ground water and I feel
that the broken section and the sand backfill be replaced as shown in the detail from
the original construction plans (see attached plan). This should be done prior to
issuing a certificate of occupancy for this property.
