Thursday afternoon I received a call asking for an inspection of a
storm sewer catch basin at Mellens property.
I arrived at the site and a person identified himself as a
Construction Superintendent for Newfield Construction and asked for
a inspection of an oil separator, which they were installing in the
floor of a building addition.
They were in the process of connecting the effluent from this
mechanism to a existing catch basin, near the north west corner of
the paving of their property.
I told the newfield representative I did not do plumbing inspections
and that I thought the oil separator should be connected to the
sanitary sewer, with proper approval and permit from W.P.C.A.
I suggested that they backfill the trench through the yard, since
people and machines were working in the area and proceed with proper
approval and permits.
